The process of creating imitation copper effect on landscape boulders
February 28, 2024
How do landscape boulders create stone sculpture. There are mainly the following methods:
1. Make the background color
If you want to create an imitation copper effect, you can use the background color when making landscape boulders. In other words, we can create an imitation copper effect by coloring the landscape boulders. When choosing a base color for red copper, we need to use dark red or brown paint to paint the base color. However, the color of the base color should not be too bright to prevent it from interfering with the imitation copper effect. If possible, you can mix several paints together, but don't mix them too evenly so that they don't look dull.
2. Make a patina
If you want to imitate copper, we can make patina on the landscape boulders. We all know that the rusty color of copper will change. Although copper rust is caused by oxidation, we can also make copper rust artificially. When making patina for landscape boulders, you can use a small pen to mark the grooves, or you can pour the prepared color on the stone sculpture with a good background, and then use a cloth to clean off the patina at the high points. The effect produced by this method is very natural, and it is also a refreshing and superfluous step in the imitation copper effect.
In addition to the above two methods, we can also use some highlights to create an imitation copper effect. What is highlighter? Just like us girls will choose highlighter pens to highlight their advantages (mainly the nose) in daily makeup. In the same way, landscape boulders can also be highlighted by using wax or varnish mixed with gold powder. Finally, use a large brush to apply the color and gently draw over the high points to create the look of the copper and stone sculpture that have been used for a long time. It is worth noting that you should not sweep too much or too loosely to avoid becoming flowers and affecting the imitation copper effect of landscape boulders.
